The Survey

Well, I just could not resist doing a little work on her today. I wanted to see just how bad this rig was, and to my surprise, things look better that I thought. I took out my trusty polisher, sandpaper, and went to town. The gelcoat just came back to an awesome, deep gloss that I just could not believe. That is such a relief that I do not have to paint this boat.

Another pleasant surprise was the deck. I pulled up some carpet and some of the deck, and it looks like I will not have to remove the cap and replace it all. Thank goodness the owner kept the boat bow up, and the only thing bad is the back half. Now of course that could change when i get into it, but so far so good.

My son and I cleaner her out really good just to see what we had, and in the process found a kneeboard, some change, and a ski... Whooohooo. So now I am ready to get this thing off the trailer and start the destruction process.

I am going to build a cradle like the one I made for the SX-190, but connect the two cradles so the boat can sit like it is on a trailer. I then need to figure out a way to get her in and out of the garage for grinding, and washout... Hrmmmmm.

Anyway here is some pics and video of the carnage.
